Aside from the diverse combat system, the marvelous aesthetic, and a soundtrack we can listen to on repeat for hours, Elden Ring has a phenomenal open world for players to explore. FromSoftware pulled all the stops on the game and delivered something truly majestic.
Elden Ring’s world is packed with content to uncover as the heart whims. The deviation from the usual linear pattern was received very well. How To Get Out of Gael Tunnel?
Gael Tunnel can be easy to enter but tricky to get out of. That difficulty arises from the fact that there is no simple connecting path you can take to exit the area. Instead, you need to take certain steps to take your leave from the area. We did our homework so you did not have to. Here is what we found:
Gael Tunnel is a location in Elden Ring that is found in Caelid. The tunnel is located on the border between Limgrave and Caelid.
There is a second entrance to Gael Tunnel aside from the western cliffs of Caelid. It is over on the Limgrave side, but it is initially barred and needs to be unlocked by completing the dungeon from the Caelid side. This entrance contains the Gael Tunnel Rear Entrance site of grace
Gael Tunnel is unique because it is tricky to find your way in and then somehow find your way out.
Getting Out of Gael Tunnel
There is a good chance that you unknowingly stumbled upon Gael Tunnel only to be humbled by the high-level and heavy-hitting enemies waiting to tear into you. Naturally, you would want to retreat and come back later. But wait, what is this? No way out?
Gael Tunnel has left countless players frustrated and even panicked because they cannot seem to find a way out. Thankfully, there are a few ways you can get out of Gael Tunnel and be on your merry way.
Defeat the Boss
The first one is the most obvious of the lot. Akin to other closed areas in ancestral FromSoftware games, you can exit Gael Tunnel by defeating the zone boss. This will unlock a path for you to safely leave the premises.
The zone boss in Gael Tunnel is the Magma Wyrm. He can prove to be quite a headache if you let your guard down. If you are at the right level to fight him (25 – 35), then this is your best bet. Plus, you get to keep some sweet rewards for the road.
Here are some tips to beat Magma Wyrm:
- Be around level 25 – 35
- Do not get greedy
- He is very weak to Magic damage, so long-range combat is best
- Beware of the mad dash attack
- Keep an eye out for the lava
- The sword attacks hit hard, but are very slow. Punish the long windup and get hits in
- Have fun with the fight

Die and Respawn at the Checkpoint
This is for those of you who just dropped into Gael Tunnel and are clearly way over your heads. This is an unpleasant worst-case scenario sort of deal. However, if you would truly like to exit Gael Tunnel and do not have Runes that you are dead-set on protecting, you can simply get killed and you will revive at the Site of Grace you last interacted with.
This method is also nice if you are in a hurry and cannot put up with all that Gael Tunnel throws at you.

Activate the Gael Tunnel Site of Grace
This is the cool older brother of our last suggestion. Everyone likes him. If losing your Runes and your pride is too much to ask for, then you can carefully make your way to the Gael Tunnel Site of Grace and travel from there.
The Site of Grace can be located by walking down the hall and exploring or simply rushing until you come across a large door and a smaller door. Going through the smaller door will lead you to a Site of Grace and you can travel back from there.
In our opinion, it is bad game design to be able to teleport somewhere we have never been, only to find out we cannot fast-travel out of there and have to risk our precious Runes in an attempt to escape. Beggars cannot be choosers, we guess.
That brings our guide to an end where we saw how to get out of Gael Tunnel in Elden Ring. With how expansive the game is, it is easy to lose your way or find yourself in areas it is not so easy to exit. That somewhat adds to the charm of exploration, so no complaints from us! (ignore the paragraph before this)
