The Basics About Fishing In BDO:
To fish, you must equip a fishing rod and a fishing bait. When you are in the Fishing Area, you will see an icon that looks like a hook and fish on the bottom left corner of your screen.
You can get one of the fishing rods from the market in the town. You can get bait from the market as well. After equipping a fishing rod and fishing bait, go to your Fishing Area.
You can also sell the fishes that you catch for a fair amount of silver. You can find the fish market in the town, and you can also find the fish to sell depending on the type of fish.
How to Fish in Black Desert Online?
There are two ways to fish in Black Desert Online. One Is manually, and the other is AFK.
Manual:
While in the game, you should walk up to a body of water and press the space bar. After a few seconds, a fish will jump out of the water and take your bait. It would be best if you hit the space bar when that’s happening for a higher chance of success.
If you’re successful, then next, you’ll need to enter a sequence of “WASD” keys while within the blue range to catch it. If you do not see the fish jumping out of the water, the fish has escaped. The process is straightforward enough, but it might be frustrating if you are new to the game. It is also known as Fishing Minigame.
Congratulations adventurer! You have completed all steps of the minigame to catch a rare and beautiful fish. To pick the fish up, press R. After you cast your line, if you don’t press R again, then the game will delete the fish.
AFK or Auto Fishing:
When you achieve a bite for AFK fishing, your character in the game will need to wait three minutes (base time) for you to catch the fish manually. If you don’t catch the fish, the game will automatically catch the fish for you, and they will be sent directly into your inventory. Note that you will have to be at your computer but if you are, by all means, leave it on AFK.
