Black Desert Online is a sandbox MMORPG set in an open world with survival elements. There are two significant towns, huge areas to explore, and plenty of NPCs to interact with. It features martial arts-driven combat along with some PvE and PvP action.
You have more than 350 quests to complete—ranging from clearing monsters out of the Black Desert Mines to inheriting your family’s legacy as a powerful lord or lady. There are also horse racing, fishing, and cooking mini-games for you to enjoy when not fighting bosses or plundering dungeons.
Choosing the best server for beginners is a hard choice. There are pros and cons to each. Olvia is known as the server for beginners, but it also has many people who want to make powerful characters exploit it.
Black Desert PvP is also very intense, so low-level players will get killed quickly if they are not careful. Mediah quests are much more suited for higher-level players, and there is plenty of money to be made in-game as well if you dedicate yourself to PvP or crafting.

There are a few different servers that you can choose from, depending on what your main playstyle is and who your favourite class is. When you just log into the game, you have to choose a suitable server for beginners. Before choosing the server, you need to ask yourself three questions.
- Is the channel congested?
- Are you meeting someone somewhere?
- Could you foresee possibly tackling a PVP or seasonal channel?
You’ve yet to experience the joy of selecting a server or homeworld. These games have to do with cooperation & social interaction, so exiling on an undesired game server could eventually equal prolonged isolation from some of your friends. Conversely, joining one of your friend’s server later may mean moving to crowded worlds and encountering queue times upon logging in.
While this game has many looks, and one can be forgiven for not knowing which is the best, it’s essential to get the correct server early on. The truth is – every server has its upsides and negatives. But if you want to get your money’s worth, then you want to go out on a limb a little and join the server that has something going for it while still having fun.
The disadvantage of this is that you will need to learn how to play the game on a new channel, and this takes time.
It also creates new problems for players- one player may choose a specific set of rules based on their needs and have those rules best suited for him. However, when another player chooses the same rule-set, he could find himself at odds with players who like different things (and live in different channels).
The authors are looking into ways to solving this problem in novel ways and incorporate more diverse elements into the game’s design.

When you first log in, your Olvia channels offer significantly enhanced EXP and material rewards for a time period of 30 days. It all depends on which channel suits your requirements at the time. For new players, it is best to start in Olvia1 if you want a challenge, Olvia2 if you need more power, or EXP and Olvia3 if you want less work.
The team plans to release more channel types in the future, each with its unique map and specific rules. With the development of these additional servers in mind, they intend to create a system that will ensure players can choose their desired server without much difficulty or confusion.
In addition, the team is considering changes to the UI, which will allow players to select their desired server and channel type.
