What Are Sentients?
The Sentients are a synthetic race from Tau System who were the Orokin’s primary opponents during the Old War. Initially thought about as an alien race, memory imprints presented by Cephalon Simaris indicated that the Orokin originally made them as some terraforming machines being sent to the Tau System.
They were given an exceptional degree of resilience and adaptation, bordering on genuine self-determination, for this reason, despite the doubts of some Orokin Executors.
They acquired sentience accidentally, as their title suggests. They appeared to be a severe danger to the Orokin Empire, nearly bringing it down with their innate talents. Tau damage is dealt with by all Sentients, pointing toward their home system.

I know of a few different ways to farm Sentient Cores. First, exploring the plains at midnight and popping Vomvalysts. Secondly, going to Lua and trying to farm sentients, and one other is Eidolon hunts.
How You Can Get Sentients
The mobile defense mission on Lua is the only thing that springs to mind for me. Now at the second station, there will always be at least three, although it’s small. Even though this is the only map I’ve ever seen them appear on, it is one of the best ways to farm sentient.
After surviving during lua missions, you will get them in large numbers after every ten minutes. In this way, you can farm them wherever you want in Warframe. Eidolon hunts might be the most effective. I’d recommend you stick to Teralyst hunts but avoid tricaps because your Mote amp would be useless. When it’s nighttime, begin them out from the bounty at Konzu.
The second best option is to go out alone at night and hunt for vomvalysts on certain plains. Each of these could only be done in Cetus at night. Lua seems to be the least effective approach to finding Sentients to farm.

Sentients Drop-in Warframe
They will sometimes leave the battle to reclaim their arms one by one, usually after employing their particular strike. When a Conculyst is killed, a Sentient core is eventually dropped.
If there is a nearby Sentient, it will go after the core to completely restore its shields and health.
