Released just recently in 2021, the FPS game Resident Evil Village has enthralled many players. It is a horror-themed game published and developed by Capcom and is thoroughly enjoyed by a lot of gamers. It is a successor to the 7th iteration of Resident Evil (Biohazard). Players control the character Ethan Winters, a man who sets out in search of his kidnapped daughter after a dreadful clash with Chris Redfield and ends up in a mutant creatures-filled village.
Castle Dimitrescu is a large Medieval castle owned by the Dimitrescu family and used by Mother Miranda and Lady Alina Dimitrescu during their experiments on the nearby villagers with Cadou parasites and Mold which birthed the three Dimitrescu’s daughters: Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela.
The castle is also known to be the location of the family’s sadistic ways of torturing and draining the locals of their blood.
There is a point in the game where you would have to look for items in the castle and the attic is one of those places you have to visit.
Are you frustrated because you can’t find the required items in Castle Dimitrescu’s attic? Then read on because this is a guide on the items’ exact locations to clear the attic.
Once you follow the corridor behind Dimitrescu’s Portrait, you can use the ladder to ascend to the attic. As soon as you enter the attic, you have to watch out for:
(Collectible) Goat of Warding
You definitely do not want to miss this collectible which is located nearby right after you go in the attic. After you have climbed the ladder & arrived inside the attic, move around and spot the goat on the crate behind you. Shoot the goat to collect the collectible.

Crate and Treasure Map
These next couple of items are on top of each other and they are on a table right ahead of you after you’ve collected the Goat of Warding. The treasure map is an important item because you will need it to open and get the treasure located in Castle B1’s special chamber. After collecting the treasure map, you can destroy the crate and get some Handgun Ammo which is also very useful.
Lockpick
Next up, we have the Lockpick up for grabs. Leave the table where the treasure map was, and start following the room in the northeastern corner till you get to a dead-end where you’ll see a set of crates with a lamp on top of them. The Lockpick will be right beside the lamp, on the crates. Watch out for the NPC in front of it, lying on the ground.
Gunpowder
This is something many players have been trying so hard to find and may even give up on it. Here’s how to get it: going back to the spot you land on as you enter the attic, you turn right against the wall and try to spot a small wooden crate. That’s where you’ll find gunpowder.

(Collectible) Rumors of a Dagger File
Once you have found the gunpowder in the wooden crate, move and walk over to the attic’s right (southwest on the map). Spot a table having a candle sitting on it, that is where the Rumors of Dagger File collectible is.
F2 Rifle (Weapon)
After everything has been found so far you have to get out of the attic and make your way towards the next section (Rooftops), along the way, you can find the last item, a new weapon. The F2 Rifle can be spotted on top of a chair as you leave the Attic. It is quite hard to miss it.
Following all the instructions above, there is no way you can miss collecting these items and collectibles. After all the items have been collected from the Resident Evil 8 Village Attic, you will get a Search Completed notification and you can now proceed to the Rooftop in search of more items.
