When finding hidden items in the 8th iteration of Resident Evil (Village), the section of Castle Dimitrescu Rooftops is among the trickiest and frustrating places to do so. After all the items have been found, you will be commemorated with your map having the Search Completed Blue Marker on the next-generation survival horror game and that area will be shown as Cleared on the map.
Resident Evil Village’s Castle Rooftops section currently has six items to be found and collected in order to clear the section, most of them being inside vases you will have to break to collect. The Capcom developed game becomes quite a frustrating mission when it comes to Resident Evil Eight Village Castle Rooftops because the area is quite large and one of the toughest items to find in this area is the Crystal Fragment, a fragment that is near-invisible to the human eye. However, fear not, for this guide will get you the Rooftops Search Completed Blue Marker in RE 8 Village in just a few minutes because all the locations will be unveiled here.
One important thing to note is that you can’t find any collectibles in the Resident Evil Eight Village Castle Rooftops section. Even though your initial visit may look perplexing, it actually isn’t. It can be very annoying to forget an important item which will be used later, but you wouldn’t have to worry if you follow the directions below to clear the area and continue on a carefree adventure.
The objective in this section is to go to the rooftop’s highest spot where a zipline will be found to get to the next section to get the Mask of Rage and escape the castle.
So, with no further ado, in chronological order, here are the items you need to find in the RE 8 Village Castle Rooftops section and their various locations:
Crafting Material: Rusted Scrap
The moment you exit the previous section (Attic section) where you successfully found all the items, you’ll approach the Rooftops section where you will have to follow a straight path ahead of you. On your left-hand side, a broken part of a stone rampart balcony can be seen, this is right behind the elevator. Enter the hole and make a left turn to spot a vase at the lower roof. If this vase is broken, you will get Rusted Scrap. Keep in mind that the vases’ contents on the rooftops section are totally random.

Money: Lei
Make your way back to the elevator (or lift) from your current position and move around it on the right to see another breakable vase. Breaking this vase can get you Lei or anything else.
Onto the next thing! From your current position, you just have to turn around & you will spot another vase, which would again contain some more Lei which is an Old Romanian currency.
Crystal Fragment (Treasure)
This is the almost impossible but yet the most important item to spot in the Resident Evil Eight Village Castle rooftops section. A lot of players find it very difficult to find the Crystal Fragment but following the directions below will reveal where it is.
From where you are currently located, hug the balcony on your right-hand side and keep moving till you approach the Dimitrescu Castle Rooftops’ southeastern part. Keep a keen eye and look around, you will be able to find snow in the roof’s corners. After seeing this, you will have to proceed upwards to look for a zipline, but you don’t go down it just yet (that is what will get you to the next section).
Look forward and you will see a small tower around. On the tower (lookup), you will be able to spot what looks like a dot that’s glowing. You have to shoot this dot. When you shoot at the glowing dot, a Crystal Fragment will drop on the small ledge. This is your opportunity to catch it because it’ll most likely be the last Resident Evil Eight Village Castle Rooftops item you’ll need (if you have already got the rest).

Crafting Material: Gunpowder
If you have successfully gotten the Crystal Fragment, you should stay on the rooftop and simply turn around, taking the path around the tower.
Go towards your east and get to the end of the path where you will climb up the roof. Go near the castle’s large window, you will see a box that contains the gunpowder on the outside ledge.

Lei (Money)
In order to complete the Resident Evil Eight Village Castle Rooftops section, you have to break one more vase. This vase can be located back at that position in the tower where you found the Crystal Fragment, then you go across the roof north and turn right to go upwards. When you get to the top of that roof, you will find the vase right under your current position which you will have to break to get the Lei.
After you have broken the last vase on the RE 8 Village Castle Rooftops section, the Search Completed Marker should appear on the map. You can now head on to the zipline to get to the Belfry. Here, three secret items await to be collected.
