After a long and disappointing day, I decided to reward myself with a MapleRoyals gachapon run. Well, before we get started, I would like to let you know the reason why I was so disappointed.
MapleRoyals Chaos Scroll Fail
Earlier today, I purchased a 12 attack 3 slot Blackfist Cloak from another player in-game. The cost came out to be 10 billion mesos. Well, my chaos scrolling addiction and fake dreams of having a 20 attack cape turned out to be a huge disappointment. I wish there were screenshots, but this is my first MapleRoyals blog post.

At the current time that I was scrolling my cape, chaos scrolls were around 525m to 550m mesos and white scrolls were around 550m mesos.
First Attempt: 12 Attack 3 Slot Blackfist Cloak
After purchasing my cape and a few chaos scrolls, my friend and I decided to scroll in channel 20 FM 22 because that’s his “lucky” scrolling spot. In this Maplestory private server, 10 billion mesos is a lot and it takes a lot of time and dedication to earn.
“I was so confident. I could feel the adrenaline rush slowly building up my body, but what’s stopping me from achieving greatness?”
Now here I am and am just a few clicks away from dragging this expensive scroll on to the cape. This expensive cape that would cost players at least 100 hours of leech. I thought twice about it.
“Should I do it?”
Without thinking about the worst of the worst, I dragged the scroll on to the cape. That was at least 1 billion mesos right at the front of my eyes; a chaos scroll and a white scroll burned in less than a few seconds. I slowly slide my cursor on to the cape to see the stats. There it is. It felt like the end of the world. The stats came out to be 10 attacks with 2 slots left.
Now that I failed, the chaos scrolling rage inside of me came out. I decided to change to channel 17 FM 1 where all of my FM shops are located. Without thinking, I dragged another chaos scroll using an additional white scroll on to the cape. I am already down and not profiting. What’s more to lose?
I scrolled my cursor and there it was. The chaos scrolling gods gifted me with a beautiful 15 attacks 1 slot Blackfist Cloak!
I couldn’t believe my eyes. Changing back to my friend’s “lucky” channel, he was failing miserably. I felt bad and anxious at the same time. Seeing the last slot is tempting and for me, I knew that the last slot is always the worst when it comes to scrolling for me.
I decided to do some research to find out the value if finished. I looked at the possibilities and outcomes. My online friend “ray8787” sent me this cape price chart that I never knew existed.
The chart seemed exciting to me. I was looking at the bigger numbers and ignoring the small ones. What a terrible mindset to be in. I made a terrible decision and dragged another chaos scroll with another white scroll on to the cape. It failed. I just lost 1 billion mesos in less than a second.
Well…. let’s try again. If I really want this 20 attack cape, then I have to try, right?
I dragged my last chaos on to the cape and it passed! Now, seeing the results for this last cape is nerve-wracking because it’s my last slot and also my last chance. I slide my cursor to the cape and it now shows 15 attacks. The attack stats didn’t moved but the cape at least turned purple.
Fortunately, because of its purple aura, I was able to trade it for another 15 attack cape and received 200m just so the buyer could have the purple aura.
After this, I truly regret my decisions and now, I’m at a loss.
Second Attempt: 9 Attack 2 Slot Pink Gaia Cape
After failing on my first cape, I decided to browse the free market. In this game, I’m mainly a merchant and my end game is different from the majority. I want to be rich and have over 100 billion mesos while other players strive to achieve a certain level and gear.
As I browsed the free market, I stumble upon a 9 attack 2 slot Pink Gaia Cape for around 2 billion mesos. I thought to myself…
“This is pretty cheap. I could probably resell it for more!”
A few hours later, I was browsing the MapleRoyals sell forum. I saw someone posted about a 14 attack cape going for around 8 billion mesos. My first instinct was the Pink Gaia Cape. If I hit even +3 on my cape, I would be profiting. Is it worth the risk?
Me being the chaos addict that I am, I decided to drag my last 2 chaos scrolls that I recently bought. They both worked! The chances of me losing badly must be pretty slim right?
I slide my cursor on to the cape.
Believe it or not, the attacks became zero. What’s the possibility right?
MapleRoyals Gachapon Run (560 Tickets In New Leaf City)
After losing a great deal of mesos, I wanted to make myself feel a little better. I had 580k NX in my Cash Shop from MapleRoyals’ Lunar Event. I was saving it for my hired merchants but I could always vote, so why not. I spammed and bought 560 MapleRoyals gachapon tickets total. (35 tickets bundle)
Here I am, in NLC, praying to the gachapon gods for a bunch of white scrolls.

Andy’s Thoughts
Overall, I think that my run is pretty decent. Not the best. This is my biggest (maybe most successful) gachapon run so far. I’m pretty happy with the 6 white scrolls that I got. That’s almost 1 white scroll for every 100 tickets that I redeem. I got several Stonetooth Swords and my best 2 were 106 and 105 attacks.
With all the scrolls and junk equips, it’s sure going to take awhile to sell!
