In Undertale, while dodging magical attacks, players fight challenging battles and act through them. All of this can start to become a bit difficult once you start getting into advanced levels, especially when you are not playing Undertale on fullscreen.

Unfortunately, the game is set to run in a windowed mode by default and is locked in it.

Well, you needn’t worry as in this guide, we will show you how to play Undertale in full-screen mode. We will be covering multiple methods for both Windows and Mac systems.

The solutions mentioned below work no matter the source where you have bought the game from. Be it Humble Bundle or Steam. The methods work for any version of the game. Let us begin with the Windows solution first.

Making Undertale Fullscreen on Windows

The methods described below works for all recent versions of Windows like 7, 8, and 10, so you can be assured about it.

Method 1: Press the “F4” Key

Pressing the F4 key on your keyboard can change the viewing mode from windowed to fullscreen in Undertale. You can find this function key in the topmost row on your keyboard.

This is the most common solution for fixing the windowed problem on Undertale. However, if you are still being faced with this problem, then head over to the next method described below. It is slightly tricky but should work.

Method 2: Press “Fn” + “F4”

First, press the FN key, which is usually located on the bottom-most row on your keyboard, and then simultaneously press the F4 key along with it. This should get your game rendered on the full screen instantly.

There are a lot of HP users who have complained about the F4 method not working. Instead of switching to the fullscreen mode, the users said that it popped up a menu asking players whether they want to “project.”

This is where this method came into the picture.

If you are one of those HP users, then this method is exactly what you need. The FN key is a modifier. Its full form is “Function” and used to momentarily disrupt any function keys from functioning normally when pressed along with it.

There are many function keys on a computer, and laptops generally lack the space to incorporate all of these keys. Because of this reason, the FN key was invented so that the function keys that couldn’t be fitted in could also be used.

Method 3: Press “Alt” + “Enter.”

This method is usually the last resort when all the above methods fail to render the game into full screen—first press the “Alt” key on your keyboard and then the “Enter” key. The Alt key is usually located on the bottom-most row of most keyboards. This will do the trick.

That was it for all the methods that you can use to make Undertale fullscreen on your Windows system. Let us now move on to the Macbook users who want to switch Undertale to full screen.

Making Undertale Fullscreen on MAC

There are three methods to make Undertale fullscreen on Mac devices similar to the Windows systems. Just like the previous methods, the ones used for Mac also involve several different key combinations.

Method 1: Press the Fullscreen Button

If you are using a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, you need to press the green fullscreen button located on your keyboard’s bottom. However, if your Mac devices don’t have this button, move on to the next method.

Method 2: Press the “F4” Key

The F4 key method works on Mac devices as well. This method will work for players whose device does not have the green fullscreen button. Make sure that you press this button once you are in the game only.

Method 3: Press “Command” + “Enter.”

First, press the Command key, which is located on the bottom-most row of your keyboard, then simultaneously press the Enter key after that. Note that on the Windows system, you press the Alt key instead of the command key.

That is it for all the methods for enabling full screen on Mac systems.

Conclusion

The methods mentioned above should be enough for you to switch to fullscreen on Undertale for Windows and Mac systems. With the fullscreen enabled, you should now have a much-enhanced control over your Undertale gameplay overall.

Such enhanced quality and accuracy that come from it would otherwise be almost impossible on the windowed mode.

You can now confidently jump to the more advanced levels and go for a much bigger high score in the game. If you found this article helpful, feel free to share it with your friends and family who play the game and might find this article useful.
