Which Game Offers Better Survivability?
Rust and DayZ may look alike, but they have differences, too. There are many factors to consider before playing a game, including survivability. Both games are survival games, but which one is better?
DayZ
DayZ, compared to Rust, delivers much more realistic and gritty graphics. As a survivor of DayZ, the main objective is to live as long as possible. To achieve this goal, the player must go on a scavenger hunt for food, water, and medicines while killing and avoiding players or cooperating with them.
One of the best things about DayZ is that no rules allow you to become a band-aid or a hero. The choice is up to you. DayZ has no checkpoints when you die, which means you die for good. The game has a very complex survival system, and paying attention to small details, such as walking around without shoes making your feet bleed or drinking out of a sick person’s bottle, can make you sick too.

Rust
Rust is the complete opposite of DayZ. Rust could have better graphics, and it isn’t a serious game like DayZ. Although Rust often beats this during your gameplay, you face challenges you never expected to see. The concept of Rust is very similar to DayZ; however, there are differences too.
Rust players are cautious not to die, and even if a player dies in Rust, it doesn’t impact much as you can quickly respawn nearby.
The endgame goal of Rust is to get a base down, trying to survive and raid others. Rust is set on a procedural map, and Rust’s map doesn’t have any specific monuments.
Rust does offer’s some POIs, such as a launch site, abandoned supermarket, harbor, and lighthouse, which you can loot. Some of these monuments require key cards to be looted.

On December 11, 2013, Facepunch Studios released the game onto Steams early access program only six days before DayZ’s first publicity build was available. Following the game’s alpha launch, Facepunch Studious released updates for standing mechanics like animal hunting, armor, and weapons.

It was credited for 300,000 unit sales of Arma 2 within the first two months of the mod’s release, putting this three-year-old title in the top charts on Steam for over seven weeks, much of this time as a top-selling game.
On August 7, 2012, developers announced that Bohemia Interactive would make the Arma 2 mod its own game. The first development build was released on December 16, 2013.

By May 2014, DayZ had sold over 2 million copies, increasing to over 4 million by November 2018.
What Is The Price Of DayZ & Rust?
Rust and DayZ are relatively inexpensive for what they offer. Rust is $19.99, and DayZ is $44.99 on Steam. Rust is the cheaper offer here than DayZ, which may be why Rust sold as many copies as they did. However, this doesn’t mean DayZ isn’t a top-notch game DayZ made history too.
There isn’t a price for your entertainment, and thinking about it in a way where your joy counts more, the price doesn’t matter.
Which Game Is Better For You?
Overall, it depends on what type of player you are. DayZ and Rust are both survival games at their core. But there is more than that DayZ is more complex than Rust and focuses more on Zombies and challenges.
